| Reverse description | Four-line Kufic Arabic legend occupying the central field, recording the mint name of Sabur (Shapur), the regnal year, and religious formulae in the manner standard to Abbasid fals coinage. Concentric inner and outer circular borders frame the central inscription, with the outer marginal legend citing the name of the provincial governor Nusayr. The lettering is executed in a bold, somewhat compressed Kufic script, consistent with eastern Abbasid mint practice of AH 158–169. The reverse exhibits the same irregular flan fabric and green-brown copper patina visible on the obverse. |
