Obverse description Central field features a double square (quadrilateral) frame enclosing a two-line Arabic inscription bearing the honorific title of Sultan al-Kamil, separated by three decorative rings. The area between the inner and outer square is divided into four segments, each containing portions of a surrounding Arabic legend. The overall composition follows the classic Ayyubid epigraphic square type, with angular Kufic-influenced script rendered in relief on a flat hammered flan.
