| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a prominent central mandorla (pointed oval) cartouche containing an Arabic inscription in bold relief, characteristic of Mamluk fals coinage of the Baybars period. Additional marginal Arabic legends surround the central device, though partially worn and off-flan due to the irregular planchet. The raised cartouche form is a hallmark of Mamluk copper issues, serving to frame the royal or religious titulature in a visually distinctive manner. Surface corrosion and patination are consistent with long-term burial. |
