Obverse description Facing crowned royal effigy depicted en face, the head flanked by long curls falling over and covering the ears, rendered in the Gothic hammered style typical of early 14th-century Luxembourg coinage. The portrait is contained within the coin's central field, surrounded by a continuous Latin legend inscribed between two concentric pearled circles. The bust is stylized rather than portraiture, consistent with contemporary esterlin coinage of the region.
