| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing crowned effigy of Jean the Blind, Count of Luxembourg and King of Bohemia, rendered in high relief with flowing curled hair falling to either side of the face in the Gothic style. The royal crown is prominently depicted above the visage, with naturalistic facial features characteristic of 14th-century Flemish-influenced die engraving. The effigy is contained within an inner beaded circle, beyond which runs the circular Latin legend in uncial characters. The overall composition closely follows the English sterling type, reflecting the widespread adoption of that design across the Low Countries and Rhineland during this period. |
