Obverse description A rampant lion passant, facing left, brandishes a raised sword in its right forepaw while supporting with its left the shield bearing the arms of Bouillon (a horizontal banded orb). The heraldic lion is rendered in high relief with a maned head and extended claws, occupying the central field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire device, separated from the toothed border by a fine inner rim.
