Obverse description King Henry IV depicted in full majesty, seated facing on a high-backed Gothic throne, crowned and robed in royal regalia, holding the orb and sceptre. The figure is rendered in medieval relief with flanking architectural elements of the throne visible on either side. A beaded inner circle frames the enthroned effigy, with a mint mark appearing in the lower exergual area. The surrounding circular Latin legend is separated from the central device by the beaded border.
