正面描述	Youthful draped bust of Louis XIV facing right, laureate and with long flowing hair falling over his shoulders, engraved in the Baroque manner by Jean Warin. The king is depicted with the idealized juvenile effigy characteristic of the early years of his personal reign, wearing armor with a decorative clasp at the shoulder. The peripheral Latin legend reads LVD • XIIII • D • G • FR • ET • NAV • REX, identifying him as King of France and Navarre by the grace of God. The legend is separated by decorative pellets and runs along the full circumference of the coin. The coin's milled edge and finely tooled field reflect the high technical standards of the reformed French royal coinage introduced from 1640.
