| Obverse description | Youthful laureate effigy of Louis XV facing right, the king depicted as a child with long curling hair adorned with a laurel wreath, the shoulders draped and cuirassed in classical armour with decorative lace cravat visible at the neck. The portrait, engraved by Norbert Roettiers, conveys a regal yet juvenile character consistent with the king's age during his early reign. The circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading from the lower left and separated by lozenge stops. A small mintmaster's privy mark appears at the base of the bust truncation. |
