Obverse description Draped armored bust of Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne facing right, wearing a ruff collar and elaborately decorated cuirass. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the late Renaissance style, with the subject depicted with a full beard. The mintmaster's mark 'H' appears in the lower field, with the date 1615 inscribed along the bottom rim. The circular Latin legend is separated from the central design by a beaded inner border.

Reverse description Elaborately quartered coat of arms of the Principality of Sedan surmounted by a princely crown with fleurs-de-lis, set within ornate baroque cartouche with foliate and scroll mantling filling the field. The shield displays the combined heraldic arms of the La Tour d'Auvergne and associated lordships. The circular Latin legend surrounds the central design, separated by a beaded inner border.
