| Descripción del reverso | A prominent cross fleurdelisée (fleury cross) occupies the central field, its four arms terminating in stylised fleurs-de-lis and meeting at a central quatrefoil boss, all rendered in high relief within a beaded inner circle. The design is characteristic of the royal French monetary tradition and is executed with the bold, slightly asymmetric workmanship typical of hammered late medieval gold coinage. The surrounding legend in Gothic lettering reads XPS: VINCIT: XPS: REGNAT: XPS: INPERAT°, the traditional Carolingian Christus vincit invocation, separated by pellets. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, consistent with hand-struck production of the period. |
