| Beschrijving voorzijde | King Philip VI enthroned in full regalia, seated facing on an ornate Gothic throne ('chaise') adorned with fleurs-de-lis on the right side and flanked by elaborate Gothic pinnacles and buttresses. The crowned king holds a long sceptre in his right hand and an orb or hand of justice in his left, wearing a long fleur-de-lis embroidered mantle. The throne and architectural canopy are rendered in meticulous Gothic style, with a trefoil arch framing the royal effigy. The circumferential legend in Gothic lettering is separated from the field by a beaded inner border. |
