| Obverse description | Seated allegorical figure of Britannia facing left, helmeted and draped in classical robes, holding a trident in her right hand with a shield at her side, positioned before a spoked wheel. To the left of the field, the legend BRITANNIA is inscribed vertically; the date 1995 appears in the upper field, and the large stylised monogram ECU dominates the right portion of the field. The fineness mark .999 appears in the lower central field, flanked by decorative foliate sprays along the base. |

The composition closely follows the celebrated Benedetto Pistrucci design tradition associated with British coinage. The legend ST. GEORGE is inscribed in the upper right field along the inner rim, with the remaining field left plain to emphasise the central device against a mirror-polished proof surface. |
