Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King Stanisław August Poniatowski facing right, rendered in high relief in a refined neoclassical style. The king is depicted with curled hair beneath a laurel wreath, with flowing drapery at the shoulder. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading STANISLAUS AUGUST. D. G. REX POL. M. D. L., identifying the monarch as King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania by the grace of God. The field is smooth and unadorned, allowing the portrait to dominate the design.
