Obverse description Crowned and draped bust of Augustus III (August III Sas), Elector of Saxony and King of Poland, facing right, wearing an elaborate curled wig and royal mantle with lace cravat. The crown above the effigy is of the open Polish royal type, richly ornamented with fleurs-de-lis and pearls. The circular Latin legend runs along the coin's periphery, partially visible at the edges of the flan. The portrait is rendered in a refined Baroque style characteristic of the Leipzig Mint's workmanship of the mid-eighteenth century.
