The date 16-37 is divided to the left and right of the shield, with the mintmaster's initials I-I flanking the base. A circular Latin legend within a beaded border reads MONETA NOVA ARGENT CIVIT THORVNENSIS, identifying the piece as a new silver coin of the city of Toruń. The composition is rendered in bold Baroque relief with meticulous detail in the architectural elements of the city arms. |
