Obverse description Right-facing draped bust of Sigismund III Vasa occupying the majority of the field, rendered in high relief with fine detail; the king is depicted wearing richly decorated armour and an elaborately ornamented collar with floral and jewelled embellishments characteristic of early 17th-century royal portraiture. The effigy is bearded and bareheaded, with curled hair, conveying a dignified, regal presence. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the circular Latin legend reading SIGISMVNDVS III D G POLONIAE ET SVECIAE REX distributed around the periphery.
