Obverse lettering STANISLAUS AUG·D·G·REX POL·M·D·L·
(Translation: Stanislaus Augustus, by the grace of God, King of Poland and the Grand Duke of Lithuania)
Reverse description The reverse bears a bold multi-line inscription in the field stating the denomination and fineness standard: 2. GR. / CLX. EX / MARCA / PURA. COL. / (date) / (mint-master initials), indicating that 160 such pieces were struck from one Cologne mark of pure silver. The date of issue and mint-master's initials appear in the lower two lines. The plain field and large, deeply cut lettering give the reverse a stark, functional appearance typical of Polish monetary reform coinage of the period. A fine milled border encircles the design.
