Obverse description Right-facing crowned bust of King John II Casimir Vasa, wearing an elaborate jeweled collar and draped in royal robes, rendered in high relief in the Baroque manner. The king's long curled hair flows behind the neck, and the ornate arched crown bears a prominent cross at its apex. A beaded inner border frames the effigy, with the Latin royal titulature legend beginning at upper right and continuing around the full periphery of the field.
