背面描述 The Pahonia (Pogoń) of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania: an armoured knight on horseback galloping to the right, brandishing a sword raised above his head and bearing a shield on his left arm. Below the horse, the Wadwicz coat of arms (a double cross) flanked by two six-pointed stars, serving as the mintmaster's mark. The composition fills the entire field of the small, irregularly shaped flan.

附加信息

The Lithuanian denar occupied the lowest rung of the Commonwealth's silver coinage and was struck almost continuously under Sigismund III to meet demand for small change in a monetary system chronically short of petty denominations. Vilnius output across these decades was substantial but quality control was inconsistent — the tiny flans were notoriously difficult to feed through the screw press, and off-center strikes are the rule rather than the exception. Kopicki's five separate references across this range reflect genuine die variation, not collector hair-splitting.
