Obverse description Bust of Frederick Henry in high relief, bare-headed, wearing a lace collar and cuirass, facing three-quarters to right within an oval cartouche; to the left stands Mars in armor holding Frederick's heraldic shield, and to the right stands Victory holding a palm branch, both jointly supporting a laurel wreath above his head. Below the cartouche is a panoramic view of 's-Hertogenbosch (1629), and above in a scrolled banner the legend AVREA CONDET SAECVLA; the maker's signature A. WILGE appears in the lower exergue.
