| Obverse description | Radiate bust of Vespasian facing right, draped at the shoulder, rendered in a sturdy, realistic portrait style characteristic of Flavian coinage. The emperor's effigy displays strongly individualized facial features — a broad, fleshy face with prominent brow and determined expression — consistent with Flavian veristic portraiture. The radiate crown, composed of seven pointed rays, identifies the denomination as a dupondius. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG COS III, distributed around the periphery of the flan. |
