| Beschrijving voorzijde | Radiate bust of Vespasian facing right, with a small globe at the base of the neck truncation, rendered in a robust, realistic portrait style characteristic of Flavian imperial coinage. The emperor's features are boldly modelled, with short hair surmounted by the distinctive radiate crown that identifies the denomination as a dupondius. The encircling legend is arranged continuously around the periphery of the flan in incuse Latin capitals. The overall strike is slightly off-centre, as is typical of hammered bronze issues of this period. |
