Obverse description Radiate bust of Vespasian facing right, draped at the shoulder, rendered in a robust, realistic portrait style characteristic of Flavian coinage. The emperor's effigy displays his characteristic broad features and short-cropped hair beneath the radiate crown, which distinguishes this denomination as a dupondius. The circular legend is inscribed around the bust, reading IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG COS III, with the titulature beginning at the lower left and running clockwise. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, consistent with hand-struck production of the period.
