| Reverse description | Ceres, veiled and draped, stands in contrapposto facing left, her figure rendered in the classical Roman tradition. In her lowered right hand she holds two ears of corn and a poppy, emblems of her dominion over agriculture and the harvest, while her left hand grasps a tall vertical sceptre. The legend CERES AVGVST appears in the field, with S C (Senatus Consulto) flanking the figure to denote senatorial authorization of the bronze coinage.
