The composition is set within a plain field, with the senatorial abbreviation S C (Senatus Consultum) flanking the central type in the lower field, affirming senatorial authority over the bronze coinage. The reverse legend, distributed around the periphery, records Trajan's tribunician power, third consulship, and title of Pater Patriae. The die engraving reflects the accomplished classical style of the Rome mint under Trajan. |
