Obverse description Radiate laureate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped and cuirassed, depicted in the idealised heroic style characteristic of Trajanic imperial coinage. The obverse legend, disposed in a circular arrangement around the effigy, reads IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS V P P, recording the emperor's full titulature including his Germanic and Dacian victory cognomina. The coin is heavily corroded and encrusted, with surfaces exhibiting significant porosity and earthen patination consistent with prolonged burial, rendering fine die details largely obscured. The radiate crown, a standard attribute of the dupondius denomination distinguishing it from the as, is faintly discernible through the corrosion.
