Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in bold high relief characteristic of the Trajanic period. The radiate crown, indicative of the dupondius denomination, crowns the emperor's head, while the paludamentum is visible over the cuirass at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend reads IMP CAES NERVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC P M TR P COS V P P, beginning at the upper left and running clockwise around the full periphery of the flan, set within a beaded border.

(Translation: Imperator, Caesar, Nervae Traiano Augustus, Germanicus, Dacicus, Pontifex Maximus, Tribunicia Potestate, Consul Quintum, Pater Patriae. Supreme commander (Imperator), Caesar, of Nerva Trajan, emperor (Augustus), conqueror of the Germans, conqueror of the Dacians, high priest, holder of tribunician power, consul for the fifth time, father of the nation.)
Reverse description The personification of Arabia stands facing, head turned slightly to the left, draped in long robes. She holds a bundle of cinnamon sticks or spice branches in her extended left hand and a long transverse sceptre or rod in her right hand; at her feet to the left crouches a small camel, the emblematic animal of the province. The senatorial mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in the field to either side of the central figure. The legend S P Q R OPTIMO PRINCIPI runs along the upper periphery, with ARAB ADQVIS in the exergue below, all within a beaded border.
