In her extended right hand she holds a branch downward over a dromedary camel standing to the left, its body partially obscured behind her figure. Her left arm carries a bundle of cinnamon sticks or reeds, emblematic of the province's famed aromatic trade goods. The design commemorates the annexation of the Nabataean kingdom as the Roman province of Arabia Petraea, with the senatorial legend S C flanking the central field. |
