| Obverse description | Radiate bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, depicted with an aegis on the left shoulder, rendered in high relief in the Roman imperial portrait tradition. The emperor's features are strong and idealized, with the characteristic spiky radiate crown identifying the denomination as a dupondius. The circular Latin legend runs along the full periphery of the flan, naming Trajan's titles and honors.
