The "Restitutor" series issued under Hadrian directly commemorates his extensive provincial tours — the most ambitious undertaken by any Roman emperor. Between 121 and 132 AD, Hadrian personally visited nearly every province in the empire, and this Asia type belongs to a broader coinage program celebrating his arrival and benefactions in the eastern provinces, likely tied to his second major tour around 128–132.
