Obverse description Bare or laureate bust of Hadrian, draped and cuirassed, facing left and viewed from the rear or side, with the emperor's characteristic features rendered in the official imperial portrait style. The obverse legend encircles the bust in raised Latin capital letters. The portrait displays the hallmark short beard and broad facial features associated with Hadrianic coinage of the Roman mint. The flan is irregular and broad, consistent with struck bronze denominations of the mid-Hadrianic period.
