Reverse description A Roman warship (navis) depicted sailing to the left, rendered in profile with oars extended and a prominent prow bearing a figural figurehead, identified as Minerva Promachus, a Triton, or Pegasus according to die varieties of this type. The hull and rigging are rendered with characteristic Roman engraving detail, and the composition occupies the majority of the reverse field. The surrounding legend FELICITATI AVG COS III P P is distributed around the upper field, with S C (Senatus Consultum) prominently placed in the lower exergual area, authorizing the bronze coinage by senatorial decree.
