| Reverse description | The personification of Clementia stands facing left in full figure, draped in a flowing stola and palla, rendered in a classical contrapposto stance. In her extended right hand she holds a patera, and in her left hand she grasps a long vertical sceptre or hasta. The letters S and C (Senatus Consultum) are prominently placed in the field to the left and right of the figure respectively, authorizing the bronze coinage by senatorial decree. The encircling legend CLEMENTIA AVG COS III P P runs along the beaded border, referencing Hadrian's clemency, his third consulship, and his title of Pater Patriae. |
