| Description du revers | The personification of Clementia, the divine embodiment of imperial mercy and forbearance, stands in full figure facing left in a composed, hieratic pose. She is depicted in long draped robes, holding a patera in her extended right hand and a long vertical sceptre in her left. The senatorial mark of authority, S C (Senatus Consultum), is placed in the lower field to either side of the figure. The surrounding legend, CLEMENTIA AVG COS III P P, runs around the periphery, with a dotted border enclosing the entire design. |
