附加信息	This issue belongs to the remarkable series of "travel bronzes" struck under Hadrian to commemorate his extensive tours of the provinces, with the Alexandria type produced in connection with his visit to Egypt in 130 AD — the same journey during which his favorite Antinous drowned in the Nile. The Senate's subsequent deification of Antinous was deeply unpopular in Rome, and the Egyptian bronzes occupy an uncomfortable political moment in the reign. RIC II.3 1626 is assigned to the Rome mint despite the Egyptian subject matter, a attribution that held considerable debate before the third edition clarified the series.
