Beschrijving voorzijde Radiate bust of Emperor Nerva facing right, depicted with a draped shoulder, the radiate crown distinguishing the denomination as a dupondius. The Imperial titulature legend runs clockwise around the periphery of the field in incuse Latin characters. The portrait conveys the aged, austere physiognomy characteristic of Nerva's official coinage, with carefully rendered facial features consistent with the Rome mint style of AD 96–98.

Opschrift voorzijde IMP NERVA CAES AVG P M TR P COS III P P
(Translation: Imperator Nerva Caesar Augustus, Pontifex Maximus, Tribunicia Potestate, Consul Tertium, Pater Patriae. Supreme commander (Imperator) Nerva, Caesar, emperor (Augustus), high priest, holder of tribunician power, consul for the third time, father of the nation.)
Beschrijving keerzijde Central type depicting two clasped right hands (dextrarum iunctio) grasping an aquila (legionary eagle) mounted on a naval prow oriented to the left, symbolising the concordance between the emperor and his armed forces. The legend CONCORDIA EXERCITVVM is distributed around the upper and lateral field, while the senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in the lower field flanking the prow. The composition is bold and emblematic, reflecting Nerva's deliberate propagandistic effort to secure military loyalty following his accession in AD 96.
