Obverse description Radiate draped bust of Nero facing right, rendered in the characteristic late Neronian portrait style with the emperor's distinctive layered hair and prominent features. The effigy is shown with a radiate crown, a standard attribute of the dupondius denomination distinguishing it from the as. The circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP P P, distributed around the full circumference of the coin within a beaded border. The portrait exhibits the broad-faced, fleshy physiognomy typical of Nero's later coinage from the Rome mint.
