Obverse description Radiate head of Nero facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair swept back in multiple layered waves and a short beard, characteristic of his later portraiture. The effigy displays the characteristic full, fleshy features associated with Neronian coinage. The circular legend surrounds the portrait, reading NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP P P. The field exhibits the warm golden-bronze patina typical of orichalcum dupondii struck at the Rome mint.
