Obverse description Confronted laureate, draped, and cuirassed busts of the co-emperors Marcus Aurelius (left) and Lucius Verus (right), facing one another across the field in a characteristic bilateral portrait composition. The effigies are rendered in the provincial Roman style typical of the Aelia Capitolina mint, with the imperial insignia of laurel wreaths, military cuirass, and paludamentum clearly delineated. The encircling Latin legend identifies both rulers by their imperial titles.
