| Descrizione del rovescio | Vesta, the goddess of the hearth, seated left on a high-backed throne, rendered in draped attire in the classical style. She holds a palladium — a small standing figure of Pallas Athena — in her extended right hand, and grasps a long transverse sceptre in her left. The letters S and C (Senatus Consultum) appear prominently in the field to either side of the seated figure, authorizing the bronze issue by decree of the Senate. The legend VESTA is inscribed in the exergue below. |
