| Obverse description | Radiate bust of Hadrian facing right, draped and cuirassed, rendered in the mature portraiture style characteristic of his early reign. The emperor's beard is depicted with fine detail, reflecting the philhellenic fashion Hadrian introduced to Roman imperial coinage. The bust is set within a continuous circular legend in Latin. The radiate crown, consisting of pointed rays, identifies the denomination as a dupondius.
