| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered in high relief in the Roman imperial portrait tradition. The emperor's effigy displays a laureate radiate crown atop closely cropped hair, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. A lengthy titulature legend encircles the bust, running from the lower left around the full periphery of the flan. The portraiture reflects the early Hadrianic style, closely following Trajanic conventions before the emperor's distinctive bearded image was established. |
