| Obverse description | Radiate bust of Hadrian facing right, with bare chest and traces of drapery visible on the far shoulder, rendered in the high-relief hammered style characteristic of early Hadrianic coinage. The radiate crown, denoting the dupondius denomination, surmounts the emperor's portrait with clearly articulated individual spikes. The finely modelled facial features reflect the idealized portraiture of the early second century AD. The encircling Latin legend runs along the full periphery of the flan. |
