Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Hadrian facing right, rendered with characteristic curly hair and short beard. The effigy displays fine detail in the drapery folds over the paludamentum and the articulation of the cuirass. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG P M TR P COS III. The bust is positioned centrally within the flan, which exhibits the characteristic green patination of orichalcum. The style is consistent with the earliest phase of Hadrian's coinage, circa AD 121.
