| Beschrijving keerzijde | A lyre depicted facing, centrally placed in the field, with a rounded tortoiseshell resonator at the base and multiple vertical strings stretched between the two arms and the crossbar. The instrument is rendered in fine relief with carefully incised strings. The legend COS III is inscribed to the left of the lyre and S C (Senatus Consultum) to the right, flanking the central type and confirming senatorial authorization of the issue. The reverse design alludes to Apollo and the cultural and artistic patronage associated with Hadrian's reign. |
