| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two standing figures face one another, each clasping a globe between them: the deified Trajan on the right and Hadrian on the left, in a composition symbolising the formal transfer of imperial power and legitimacy. Both figures are rendered in military or toga dress, their shared grip on the globe emphasising dynastic continuity and co-sovereignty. The scene is framed by the surrounding legend in the field, with SC (Senatus Consultum) confirming senatorial authority for the bronze issue. The composition is a rare and historically significant type struck only briefly at the very outset of Hadrian's reign in AD 117. |
