In his extended right hand he holds a small figure of Victory, while over his left shoulder he carries a trophy — a pole hung with captured enemy arms and armour. The senatorial authorisation mark S C (Senatus Consultum) appears in the field, divided on either side of the central figure, affirming the senate's authority over bronze coinage.
