Reverse description The reverse displays the large senatorial mark of authority, S C (Senatus Consultum), disposed in the left and right fields, flanking a centrally placed crossed object — consistent with the crossed cornucopiae or thunderbolt type associated with Domitianic dupondii of this period. The bold, widely-spaced letters affirm senatorial authorisation for the issue of bronze and orichalcum coinage. The field is flat with a granular, worn surface showing the characteristic olive-brown patina of the alloy. A piercing hole is visible at the lower edge, mirroring that on the obverse.
