Reverse description Central military trophy composed of two large oval shields crossed diagonally over two crossed spears and a pair of carnyx war-trumpets, with an upright vexillum (military standard) surmounting the composition at centre top. The bold senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is placed prominently in the left and right fields respectively, flanking the trophy device. The whole design is contained within a beaded border, reflecting the standard Flavian reverse treatment for aes coinage struck under senatorial authorization.
